ISO Standards and Food Safety

AccueilCentre des MédiasNOUVELLES DE RONCO
Date: February 27, 2014

Mars, McDonalds, Campbell Soup Company, Bel Group, Danone and many more gathered in the Netherlands this week to discuss food safety during the European Food Manufacturing & Safety Summit 2014.

The next event is in Dallas, Texas, USA, March 10 - 11, 2014 and will focus on enhancing the quality and safety processes to optimize food production.

Today more than ever, food products regularly cross national boundaries at every stage of the supply chain. ISO International Standards create confidence in the products we eat or drink by ensuring the world uses the same recipe when it comes to food quality, safety and efficiency. ISO’s standards provide a platform for developing practical tools through common understanding and cooperation with all stakeholders on board – from agricultural producers, to food manufacturers, laboratories, regulators, consumers, etc. Out of more than 19 500 ISO International Standards, some 1 000 are specifically dedicated to food, and deal with subjects as diverse as agricultural machinery, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, labelling, packaging and storage.

As a commitment to safeguard their customers in the food and beverage industry, RONCO remains committed to the ISO 22000 certification for Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS).

RONCO Canada is the first glove and plastic manufacturer in North America to obtain this food safety qualification, which certifies that their manufacturing, storage and delivery processes meet, or exceed, the global standards required for food safety.

Beyond CFIA approval or HACCP compliance, an ISO 22000 recognized company has followed an international framework of process standards designed to ensure food safety.  Any company seeking hygienic, consistent-quality products that reduce the risk of food contamination can consider RONCO a value-added partner in their supply chain.
